Inseparably Bound: Terra Rosa's Stance About Palestine-Israel

Our hearts are heavy. The state of the world, and specifically the ongoing tragedy in Palestine and Israel, fills us with deep pain. We find ourselves shedding tears over the sheer magnitude of meaningless death, the devastation of lives, and the endless cycles of trauma.

TERRA ROSA is not an island disconnected from this reality. We are a community woven from many threads, with Palestinian, Israeli, Catalan, Spanish, and international queers living and working together under one roof. We carry the weight of these conflicts in our bodies and our personal histories; yet, we refuse to succumb to despair. Instead, we actively build spaces for healing.

It is our shared queer identity that allows us to find connections where history, religion, and politics usually create walls. Because we live this complexity daily, we cannot offer just a safe space. We offer a Brave Space. We are unequivocally against genocide, occupation, and the oppression of any people. We support self-determination and the right of all people to live in dignity and freedom. However, our protest is our way of life. We refuse to settle for written slogans so we choose to act.

We take accountability by building bridges where others see only separation. This is why we actively offer scholarships to Palestinians, as well as to local Catalan and Spanish people, ensuring that financial or political barriers do not prevent connection. Within our community there are individuals who have spent years as peace activists in the West Bank, some who have sat in military prison for refusing to serve in the army, and others who have sheltered queer refugees escaping persecution. This history of activism is planted deep in the soil of TERRA ROSA.

In TERRA ROSA, we hold regular circles where we look each other in the eye. Not through screens, news feeds, and social media, but soul to soul. We allow the pain and trauma that many of us carry to be acknowledged so healing can actually begin. We refuse to succumb to the narratives of dehumanization that surround us, and we do not tolerate Antisemitism nor Islamophobia. We reject the idea that a person is defined solely by their government or their place of birth. Canceling individuals based on their nationality or objectifying them as symbols of a conflict only replicates the same patriarchal separation and violence we are healing from.

Instead, we insist on seeing every person who walks through our gates as a whole human being with a unique story, never as an object to be judged. This is our invitation to you. Come with your convictions but bring your open heart. We are building an alternative here. One that acknowledges the deep wounds of the world but refuses to let them destroy our capacity to love and heal together.
